Conversion of the relief of the garden and other territory of the summer cottage

The conversion of the landscape of the garden is used by many owners of suburban areas, as this is the best way to quickly and efficiently change the landscape design and arrange it as your own project requires.

In fact, the transformation of the garden topography is necessary not only to change the landscape, but also to create the most appropriate habitat for some, the most fastidious plants. But since today we are talking specifically about geoplastics under the landscape, we will omit the topic with plants a little, especially since there is also a need to consider special agricultural technology. We will affect only those plants that we will need for a high-quality modernization of the site.

Why is the conversion of relief in the country

Each summer resident decides for himself whether it is necessary to transform the terrain, and many come to the conclusion that today's appearance is not very suitable for them. Sometimes, this is not only external data, but also mandatory requirements.

Increase in area

Since school times, we know that the area of the hilly area will be slightly larger than the standard flat. Therefore, in order to plant more plants, and simply visually increase the area, we resort to geoplasty, which allows you to do real miracles with the soil surface.

Design Adjustment

Naturally, geoplasty is one of the first techniques for the qualitative formation of the landscape in the country or suburban area. Having slightly changed the surface of the soil, having arranged some hills, plains, hollows and even small ditches, you can qualitatively approach the issue of original stylization.

Territory fencing

By installing fencing dacha on a uniform hill, stretched around the perimeter of the plot, you can significantly increase the protective potential, completely change the type of fencing, which will now appear much higher. Plants can also be used for fencing, creating a hedge of special decorative shrubs on a similar earthen rampart.

Plant exposure

It is always interesting to observe beautiful lawns, flower beds, rockeries on the site. And you can seriously change their position, because some plants need shading and exclusion of drafts (landing in the hollows), others need sunlight and constant ventilation (landing on elevations). In addition, you can change the visual perception, making some plants higher and some lower, thereby creating interesting and even very original compositions, for example, flowers.

Water discharge

Many of us got problem areas, but we found out after we made the main design of the site, built a house or just summer houses, equipped everything for life and housekeeping. Naturally, in the finished version, throwing a plot is not very interesting, because you have to look for another one and start all over again.

We are now talking about a high level of groundwater and bad weather conditions, when water stagnates on the site. Sometimes, high-quality drainage also saves, but if, for example, you are planning a dense lawn on the site, then most likely the grass will constantly get wet. Therefore, the site can be given a certain angle, only a few degrees, so that the water leaves it better. Naturally, this system will be effective only in combination with a high-quality drainage system.

Construction in the country

Buying a site, inspection and planning often lead to the fact that the owner of the cottage understands that his site is not so well designed for buildings, as he expected. Therefore, you can always level the site or vice versa, make some slopes, elevations and hollows in the territory.

Garden Formation

The transformation of the relief of the garden is necessary for us if there are special requirements for the conditions necessary for the cultivation of certain plants. In this case, you can always raise or lower the garden, or you can plant it in a checkerboard pattern, thereby creating an exclusive design of the territory of the cottage.

Entertaining platforms and complexes

If you are a happy owner of not only a large plot, but also a loud and cheerful family with several children, you will 100% want to invent special entertainments for them. You can start with the rollerdrome, where you will need to create a special design that will require differences in plane levels. You can also consider the football field, for example, for which you will definitely need the other way around, to level the ground. And what can we say about the preparation of winter ice rinks and slides that can be done quickly and efficiently by applying elementary geoplastics for this?

There are always a lot of options for transforming the landscape, and there are always a lot of requirements for geoplastics, and therefore think through all such processes in advance, especially when buying a new site. It’s much better to do everything at the very beginning of the design, because tearing down lawns and flower beds to change the landscape a couple of years after the design is a serious job and huge expenses.

Elementary transformation of the relief of the garden

In principle, now we understand what can happen to soil levels and why this is necessary, but how to perform such work? What does that require?

Of course, the issue of geoplastics is a very serious topic, and it is simply unrealistic to do such a process yourself, without investment and certain knowledge.

The main requirements can be safely considered a certain financial flow (a formed budget for the project to start and finish it, because it will be very wrong to dig the site and not finish the work due to suspension of financing), a great desire to create, certain skills for doing it yourself or at least control of workers, and, of course, a team of specialists with professional equipment.

We will say right away that the desire to save on this issue often leads to failures and losses of time and money, and therefore you should not take up serious projects if you just had a few days off and there are a couple of new shovels for work.

So, let’s look at the process with a simple example to understand how the conversion of a country house is carried out. We will choose for this a project for the production of a rocky embankment or any other elevation that is necessary to supplement the country territory.

Determination of time and place

Many experts say that such work should be done at the end of summer, and should be completed next year. This is due to certain characteristics and requirements. For example, you will not be able to form a site in winter, since frozen ground will not succumb to transformations. In the spring, all the requirements cannot be drawn up either, because variable weather (frost / thaw), as well as a large amount of water in the ground, will interfere. In autumn, rains and slush, and even early frosts, can spoil everything. But in the summer you can work, but it is always necessary to complete the project the next year, when your site will take its natural form, sit down a bit and so on.

It is important to immediately choose a place for modernization, because it is quite realistic that on one side of the site you need a flat sports ground, and on the other a mound. So why overpay and do double work when an unnecessary layer of soil from the site can simply be transported to the embankment formation zone?

Conversion Design

We need to create a project in which it is imperative to add dimensions and shapes, the cost part and materials, additional waste, consultations and assistance with design, 3D drawings and sketches (you can use special programs for landscape design). In general, a full-fledged project that will describe all your actions, the beginning and end of the process, as well as summarize your expenses.

Site preparation

Special preparation is not necessary, because you will dig or sprinkle, which means that garbage on the surface of the site will be covered with a huge layer of earth, or simply removed with the top layer of soil during leveling.

The only things that you should pay attention to are the old foundations, plants, communications at this place and everything else that can seriously interfere or be damaged during work.

Mound formation

For the formation of the embankment, special equipment is used - tractors, bulldozers and excavators. If the material will need to be brought in from outside, then freight transport will also be required, preferably dumping.

All work is carried out with the participation of a professional team, which understands exactly how to calculate the amount of soil for the embankment, calculates shrinkage and other factors affecting the further “fate” of the transformation.

It is advisable to ramp the formed hill so that subsequently it does not take on the effects of atmospheric phenomena in a form that you do not expect. A serious requirement during creation is the slope angle, which should not exceed 45 degrees, because if you make the angle larger, unpleasant surprises are possible, for example, landslides.

As we said earlier, our “work” must be defended so that the earth sags naturally. This will take about six months. If the landscape needs to be formed in a short time, then the hill is poured in small layers, each of which is immediately rammed with an ice rink or other special equipment.

Embankment design

At the end of spring or the beginning of summer, when our hill goes through all stages of natural transformations, it is necessary to cover it with a layer of humus of 20-40 cm, depending on the plants that will be planted over its area. Next, you will have to specifically study the agricultural technology of plants and do already growing them.

If we dwell on the version that was originally, that is, rocky scree or something like that, then the top layer of the hill will be a special stone designed to form these landscape transformations.

Expert Advice

  • Do not remove construction debris during such work, because it can become a good bonding material.
  • If you make a high and steep hill, it is advisable to reinforce it and further plant it with plants that will not allow the hill to crumble and deteriorate in a few years. You can use geogrids, biomats.
  • For the installation of embankments, you can use special implants, building materials that will help save time on ramming a huge amount of soil, as well as strengthen the hill. It can be logs, old and broken concrete poles, concrete well rings, pieces of reinforced concrete slabs and so on.
  • It is advisable to transform the garden or other territory of the landscape after you decide exactly which plants will cover the surface, because a lot depends on them, from the base of the hill to its last layer.
  • All work should be carried out strictly according to the project, to the preparation of which you can also attract professionals.

Remember, as a result, you should get a landscape imitation that is no different from natural, and therefore, start work only if you are fully confident in the successful completion of the project.
