Cucumbers in jelly will perfectly complement your everyday or festive table. You can make a snack using a simple and straightforward recipe.

Features of cooking cucumbers in gelatin for the winter

The main advantage of such a snack is that the jar does not need to be sterilized. Despite this, several rules must be followed to eliminate the risk that pickled cucumbers in gelatin will quickly deteriorate for the winter.

Particular attention must be paid to the selection of ingredients. Gelatin acts as a preservative and at the same time changes the consistency of the marinade in which the cucumbers are located. It is necessary to correctly calculate the concentration of such a component. Otherwise, the marinade will thicken too quickly and the vegetables will not soak properly.

Selection and preparation of products

To prepare pickled cucumbers in jelly for the winter, you need small fruits. It is recommended to take young specimens, as overripe vegetables are not crispy and less tasty. It is important that the peel is not wrinkled or damaged.

In combination with cucumbers, you can pickle other vegetables. Tomatoes, bell peppers and onions are best suited for this purpose. Spices and herbs should be added to the composition of salads and assorted herbs at your discretion. Dill, basil, garlic and black pepper give an unusual aroma to such blanks.

All components should be prepared in advance. Cucumbers need to be soaked in water. You can trim the ends, but you don't have to. After soaking, the fruits are laid out on a kitchen towel and allowed to dry.

Important! Cucumbers in jelly are cooked sliced. They will not be fully marinated entirely, so they should be crushed into cubes or circles.

Preservation requires glass jars and iron lids. A seaming key is also required.
