Children's garden in the country: arrangement and selection of plants

You have probably noticed that if children or grandchildren go with you to the country, they have an increased interest in the garden. But then this interest, unfortunately, disappears. To prevent this from happening - equip children's gardens.

Proper site layout

Allocate to children only one bed. But if you see that the baby is experiencing real pleasure from studying in the garden, you can arrange several beds.

If you have little time or space, ordinary factory bags with soil can act as beds. Just place them on the ground, pit and plant the plants. In this case, it is necessary to take into account some points:

  • bags of black color quickly heat up, which leads to drying of the roots - do not place them in the sun;
  • watering the plants will be difficult; so that the water does not stagnate, drainage holes are made in the bottom of the bags;
  • purchase only high-quality mixes suitable for the selected crops.

To break the beds, if you decide to give preference to them, it is better with the child. Do not equip the garden in a regular style, small squares or narrow rectangles are best suited.

The best option is gardens in containers. They are mobile and, in bad weather, can be easily and quickly rearranged, for example, onto a terrace. But the soil in such boxes dries quickly, which means that you will have to water the garden more often.

The garden should be arranged so that the child is comfortable to care for him. There must be a safe source of water nearby. The pond does not fit - the baby can fall into it.

The garden should be placed in a well-lit place. For one child should be at least 0.5 square meters of garden. The length of the beds is up to 3 meters. Width - no more than 60 cm, otherwise it will be difficult for the baby to reach the middle. The distance between the beds is at least 50 cm, otherwise the children will damage the plantings, passing between the rows. It is recommended to put a table and a bench near the garden so that the child has the opportunity to rest. You can install a plastic house nearby, which will diversify the activities of the baby.

Decor and arrangement

The beds are recommended to be done with fences. So the soil will not crumble, and the weeds will not crawl to the ground. As fences, standard boards can be used. At the same time, it is worth sanding them so that the child does not drive a splinter, and then paint - to give a decorative effect.

Wicker fencing looks beautiful, but to create them, it will take more time. Do not use slate or similar materials - they are fragile and environmentally friendly.

Appropriate in the children's garden look decorative elements - weathercocks, scarecrows, animal figures. Make nameplates for each crop. If the child is still unable to read, draw pictures. For climbing plants, for example, beans, you can make a pyramid of willow twigs.

Paths between the beds can be laid with geotextiles. A layer of sand is laid on top. The film is not suitable in this case. Geotextiles will not allow weeds to germinate, but they allow water to pass through.

Plant selection

Children's gardens are somewhat different from adults, so preference should be given to vegetables, it is them that children prefer to regale:

  • multi-colored pumpkins;
  • carrot;
  • Cherry tomatoes;
  • vegetable peas.

You can make a small berry - plant raspberries and strawberries. In the garden you can plant flowers that will be used to decorate salads, such as calendula, nasturtium and violets. The main thing is to avoid poisonous and prickly plants.

Instability of attention is characteristic for children of primary school age, this also should be taken into account when choosing plants. In view of this, cultures are selected for them that do not require close attention - peas and onions. Among other things, you can plant such plants as:

  • zucchini;
  • Beans
  • Beans

Middle-aged children are able to plant and distinguish between different varieties of the same culture. It can be zucchini.

Older children can be offered the following vegetables:

  • cereals;
  • greens (sorrel, dill and others);
  • legumes;
  • onions (onions, garlic);
  • cabbage (red cabbage or white cabbage);
  • tubers (potatoes);
  • fruit (pepper, tomato or cucumber);
  • root crops (beets, carrots, radishes).

Be sure to check the seeds for germination before planting them!

Any way of planting seeds can be chosen. So, at the place where the cultures will be located, you can stick sticks. Among other things, it is recommended to divide the ridge into regular grooves. Plant care equipment must be genuine, but safe, appropriate for the age of the child. It will take buckets, shovels, scoops, rakes and a watering can. All equipment after work must be cleaned and dried.

How to choose a job according to age

The content of labor in the garden directly depends on the age of the children.

  • Young children can engage in planting seeds and bulbs, watering and harvesting.
  • Older children, in addition to the above works, can loosen the earth.
  • Completely adult children can engage in weeding weeds and even digging up beds.

Why does the child need a garden

A garden is needed in order for the child to become more familiar with nature and see how it changes seasonally. Moreover, this is a great option to get results from your work. It contributes to the formation of labor skills, responsibility. Work in the air strengthens the children's body!

A garden for a child in the country is a necessity. Firstly, your child will be busy, which means that he will not distract you with or without. Secondly, working in the air enhances health.
